About
Mission
The KU Cycling Club/Team is the social gathering and competitive racing entity for students who engage in noncompetitive and competitive bicycle riding at the University of Kansas. Our vision is to promote the love of cycling at all levels of the sport in order to help student cyclists reach their cycling goals.
Who is KU Cycling?
KU Cycling is a student organization, and is a member of the University’s Sport Club program. We’re a group of students, both graduate and undergraduate with various majors, who enjoy cycling in one form or another. While there are a number of members who are competitive members, it is NOT EXPECTED NOR REQUIRED, so please don’t feel intimidated. Remember, we are a member of the Sport Club program, so it’s perfectly acceptable to be a recreational rider.
How often do you ride?
Since we are students, we ride around our school schedules, but KU Cycling usually has several set rides during the week. These ride times and intensities vary season to season. If you can not make it to the scheduled rides, then odds are you can ride at a time someone else can. Using our LISTSERV can allow you to find people to ride with, even if it’s a last minute notice.
If you would like to join us on one of our rides, please join our email LISTSERV to keep updated on rides and events. To join, create a yahoo user account and request to join. One of our officers will quickly add you and you will begin to receive emails from our members about upcoming rides.
Also, check out our calender of rides and events.
The Lawrence Bicycle Club also hosts many rides in which several of the KU Cycling Members ride.
